2022 Tax Bills

The Laurel County Sheriff’s office and City of London mailed the 2022 tax bills on October 1st. If you did not receive your property tax bill please contact our office at (606) 864-2889 to verify your property tax bill mailing address.

Keep in mind that your tax bill is calculated using your 2022 assessed value. Your assessed value is based upon sales activity thru the end of 2021. Assessed values follow market prices. Sales activity occurring now will be considered for your 2023 assessment. The median residential sale price increased 14% in 2021 and increased 23% in two years. Per Bluegrass Realtors thru September, the median sale price of a single family home in Scott County is $285,000 or 8.0% greater than September, last year.

Meet Don McFadden, Laurel County PVA

In 2009, I received the Toni Bennett Excel Deputy of the Year from the Kentucky Property Valuation Administrators Association, then earned my Certified Kentucky Assessor designation in 2012.  In 2022 I earned my Senior Kentucky Assessor designation.

I had 16 years of experience working for Joyce Parker as her Chief Deputy. Upon her retirement on June 30, 2022, the Governor appointed me to complete her unexpired term. In November 2022, I then won the election as YOUR Laurel County PVA.

It is truly an honor and privilege to serve, and I will always strive to carry out the duties of this office to the best of my ability.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity!

Property Tax Questions?

To promote better understanding of the Property Tax Process , the Kentucky Department of Revenue has developed a nice property tax website at  https://revenue.ky.gov/Property

It explains the property tax process, the tax calendar, assessments, tax rates and the billing process.

Check it out. I think you will find it informative. And remember your PVA staff is available to help with any property tax questions you may have too.

We are here Monday thru Friday 8-4:30
